15). Ishavasya Upanishad – Prayer for SELF Knowledge

Truths face is covered with a golden lid; remove that, O Pūṣan, that I, Truth’s devotee, may see It.

The seeker has understood limitations of his ego bound identity  – limited awareness. He is praying to SELF to reveal Itself.

Pusan is nourisher – name of sun.  Sun lights up the world.  World is nothing  but mithya names and forms.  Seeker is using beautiful analogy of  golden disk  of sun light shining on the earth covering the SELF.  Brahman is covered by names and forms  in the form of five elements – Space, wind, fire, water and earth. Individual self is covered by mithya body-mind-intellect.  Through this prayer he is seeking removal of veil of maya covering SELF.
